The Movie list origin story
One dude helping another dude.
‘The Movie List’ didn’t start out as a mobile app. It started out as a written list on several sheets of notebook paper.
The list was originally created for my co-worker, Gabe. See, Gabe and I had similar taste in movies, but I was often surprised at some of the great films that he had never seen. So, I took out a pen and wrote down a list of movies. Not just a short list of flicks, but a total of 704 gems of the silver screen that I felt he should DEFINITELY watch.
Since that day, the list has grown to more than 1700 titles, all recommended as likable flicks. I didn’t always agree with the critics, and sometime not even with the audience, but I stand by this list as being 90% or better full of films you will enjoy.
